Flight Simulator Service Pack 2! It was pretty exciting when that was announced wasn't it?
Since I play my FSX & FS2004 primarily on a laptop with 2 GB RAM, I did suspect that SP2 was going to slow down my gaming experience. However, when I installed SP2 and started the game (yes, with all excitement), it was disappointing to learn that SP2 needed a graphics card and it wouldn't start the game at all.
There is a workaround to this though. Thanks to a brilliant program called 3dAnalyze, where you just emulate "Shader Support" and voila!, the game starts.
This workaround, however, didn't last for too long, there was a crash almost everytime I played the game. So this has forced me to uninstall SP2. Now I have to get back to tweaking FSX the traditional way.
SP2 is quite a good update, I recommend it to whoever has a graphics card.
